I absolutely love soup recipes, especially when it is a cold and snowy day.
Which, is exactly what it was doing when I threw this delicious spicy sausage soup together.
Paired with a warm piece of bread and this spicy sausage soup is perfect for a fall or winter evening.. Or for a busy evening with minimal time to cook dinner.
The awesome thing about this recipe is that it is also Keto friendly! It is low carb and gluten free (all you need to do is avoid the side of bread ;)).
When you cook this recipe, you can either cook it in a slower cooker, or you can cook it on the stove top (which is how I cooked it).
Win-win for all parties involved, if you ask me.

Spicy Sausage Soup
A perfect soup recipe for cool Fall and Winter evenings!
Ingredients
- 1 Large Sweet Onion, Chopped
- 1 16 Oz Package of Hot Sausage
- 1 Tablespoons Minced Garlic
- 4 Cups Beef Broth
- 1 Can Diced Tomatoes with Garlic
- 1 Large Red Pepper, Chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste
- 1 Teaspoon Pepper (or to taste)
Instructions
For Stove Top
-
In a frying pan (or stock pot), cook (and crumble) the sausage, onion, pepper, diced tomatoes and garlic until the sausage is browned. Add the black pepper to taste or 1 teaspoon of pepper. Once everything is cooked through, drain the grease.
-
Add the beef broth and tomato paste and let cook until boiling lightly. This may take 10- 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Enjoy!
For Crock Pot
-
If you choose to cook this in a crockpot, simply cook the sausage, onion and garlic in a frying pan over medium heat for 8-10 minutes (or until sausage has cooked). Drain the fat and transfer ingredients to a slow cooker. Add the rest of the ingredients to the slow cooker and stir together. Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours.
Other Products That I Used and Loved With This Recipe:
Mix’ N Chop: This tool is one of my absolute favorites to use when cooking meat! It makes it so so easy to crumble up meat when it is cooking. Definitely a tool the encourages “working smarter, not harder.”
Chopping Knife: This knife is amazing! I’m not sure why it works so well, but all I know is that it can cut through anything. This makes chopping so easy!
Stock Pot: You can use this as your frying pan so you don’t need to transfer any ingredients and can just pour in your broth. Works very well, plus it is a non-stick pot.
Crock Pot: If you choose to make your soup in the crock pot, then you will need one of these amazing crockpots!
I would love to hear what you all thought of this spicy sausage soup recipe! My family absolutely loved this recipe, especially with a side of warm bread.
Happy Cooking!
