The Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne | Romantic Comedy Book Review

Loved it? Share it!:

I am a person who reads happily ever afters as if they are going out of style. One book that I go to when I have a “romantic comedy craving” is Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne.  This book is a laugh out loud romantic comedy that I re-read constantly. And of course, it has a happily ever after (with an epilogue of course). Continue reading to see why I loved the book Walk of Shame so much!

About The Walk of Shame:

The Walk of Shame is written around two characters named Georgie and Andrew. Georgiana Watkins is your everyday trust fund girl from NYC. She spends all day sleeping and all night partying with friends only to come home at 5 AM every morning. The second character is Andrew Mulroney her not so friendly neighbor who leaves for the gym at 5 AM every morning.  Every morning they run into each other in the lobby, one coming and the other going, only to have a quick-witted conversation. These conversations are hilarious and many of the laugh out load moments of the book. Throughout the Walk of Shame you take a journey through a relationship between two total opposites who got off to a not so great start.

About the Characters:

The book the Walk of Shame is one that I guarantee you will fall in love with within the first chapter. The main characters have their quirks that give you the sense that they could be real people. Majority of the book was in Georgie’s point of view (POV) which will give you a glimpse into the mind of this crazy, funny party girl. The book is written mostly in Georgie’s POV. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean that the readers don’t get into Andrews head at the same time.  Andrew is easy to get to know through the couple of chapters in his POV and through his dialogue with Georgie. I fell in love with Andrew throughout this book and I know you will too! Lauren Layne did an incredible job developing the characters and their relationship throughout the book.

However, in the Walk of Shame there were not many supporting characters but the ones that were there I would love to read about in a different book. Andrew’s brother and sister are huge in developing Andrews character. Georgie’s mom and dad who played a dynamic role in the storyline. Throughout the book each character was well written and developed to make for the absolute best book possible!

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a romantic comedy. This book is written very well. It is not long and drawn out like many others.  The book also draws the reader in after the first chapter which is a sign of a good book.

I hope you enjoy this book and I would love to hear your thoughts!

If you are interested in purchasing this book you can head to Amazon to get a Kindle Edition or Paperback edition of Walk Of Shame!

I would recommend getting a Amazon Kindle. It is lightweight and perfect for taking with you when you travel. Plus you save gas and money without going to the bookstore to buy paperback books.
