This is a delicious, easy pizza variation that everyone will love! It is so easy to make and is perfect for a lazy night in. Plus, it pairs great with wine... #homemadepizza #pizza #pearandgorgonzolapizza #easydinnerrecipe

Although I do love the traditional pepperoni and cheese pizza, there are times when I love different variations of pizza too.

Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza is a combination I never would’ve thought to put together. And trust me, I did not come up with this combination on my own.

My mom and I are subscribers to the Denver Center of Performing Arts and before every show, we would always go to a wine bar in Denver called Cru. This restaurant is where we were introduced to a variation of this pizza.

I was recently craving this pizza so I decided to throw together my own version, and it was so worth it!

The pizza was delicious! Just as good as the pizza from Cru, if not better!

It is a “sweet pizza”. The Pear and Gorgonzola pizza is made with honey, among other ingredients and this causes the pizza to have a sweet touch to it.

Homemade pizza is one of my favorite comfort foods. To be 100% honest, I like pizza, but unlike others, I have to be in the mood for pizza to truly enjoy it. This is not the case with homemade pizza though, I am always in the mood for homemade pizza!

Plus, not only is this pizza delicious, it is also super easy to make! One bowl to mix all the ingredients and everything can be done in under 20 minutes! Perfect for a lazy night.

Ingredients

Mixture

  • 8 Ounces Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
  • 1/4 Cup Gorgonzola Cheese (crumbles or shredded)
  • 3 Tablespoons Honey
  • 1/4 Cup Purple Onion
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Thyme Leaves

Crust

  • 1 Package Pre-Made Pizza Crust
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 1/2 Cup Corn Meal
  • 1 Large Pear

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F. On a baking stone (or a baking sheet) spread the pizza crust so it is thinned out. I use a roller pin to evenly spread the crust out. Spread the corn meal over the pizza crust. You may not need all of the corn starch. It does not need to cover every surface. Drizzle the 1 tablespoon of honey over the pizza crust.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredient under "mixture". Mix until well combined.

  3. Cover the pizza crust with the mixture. Once the mixture is spread over the crust, slice the pear and place the slices evenly over the pizza crust. If you enjoy more gorgonzola, you may add extra crumbles to the top of the pizza as well. Cook for 15- 20 minutes.

  4. Note: You may need to change the cooking temperature and time based on the pizza crust that you use. I baked according to my pizza crust instructions.

Other Products That I Used and Loved With This Recipe:

Roller Pin: This is a great roller pin! I use it for all of my pizza recipes as well as all of my cinnamon roll recipes! It has two sizes which is great depending on what you are using the pin for!

Rectangular Baking Stone: I use these awesome baking stones for everything, baking and cooking! They last forever, too! I have had these awesome stones for over ten years and they still make amazing cooking and baking products. This stoneware product comes in both rectangle and circular shapes.

Slicer: I love slicers! I am all about working smarter, not harder and this definitely falls into the category of smarter! I use this slicer for everything, tomatoes for sandwiches, pears on pizza (;p), etc. Plus, if you are like me, I would ALWAYS cut my finger when slicing, so this handy dandy gripper makes it impossible for me to cut my finger! Yay!

Mixing Bowls: Yup. These things again. I love these bowls and use them for all of my recipes! Therefore, you are seeing them again. And will continue to see them on every recipe I post!

I hope you guys love this pear and gorgonzola pizza recipe as much as I do! I love making different variations of pizza, especially pizza variations, and this one was definitely a keeper! If you love this pizza recipe, you may want to try my Spinach, Basil and Honey Pizza too! The same sweetness, with the same effort given, minimal!
