As bloggers, we can spend quite a bit of money to help maintain our blogs and save ourselves some time. Some of it is necessary, some of it choice. Pinterest is one of the portions of our blog that can be terribly time consuming but quite necessary. The amount of traffic we get from Pinterest is amazing.
If you haven’t started a Pinterest account, then head over to my post “How to Explode Your Pinterest Views” then come back here to hear more about this amazing scheduler!
If you are like me, then you have a job, school or a family that takes priority over your blog and majority of your time during the day. I am in Nursing School and spend most of my time studying, attending classes and clinical. And now that I am graduating next year (Whoop Whoop!), I will be adding studying for the NCLEX to my pile of things to do. With that being said, I need all the help I can get when it comes to maintaining my blog.

When I really dug deep into Pinterest and found out that you should pin content approximately 20-25 times a day at different times, that first thing I wondered was how in the heck I was going to pull that off? I can’t get on Pinterest every hour to spend 15 min pinning. Thats when I found the incredible app called Tailwind.
What is Tailwind?
Tailwind is a approved Pinterest scheduler.
You might be wondering what about Tailwind is so special compared to other schedulers like BoardBooster or Hootsuite. The difference is that Tailwind is the only PINTEREST APPROVED third party scheduler. That means that Pinterest will not knock you for using Tailwind. It will however knock you for using Boardbooster because it is not a approved scheduler.
Special Features of Tailwind
Smart Schedule:
Tailwind creates something called a “Smart Schedule”. A smart schedule is a schedule that Tailwind creates based on the data from all of your Pinterest followers and audience. This creates a schedule for the prime times to pin based on when your audience is usually Pinning and perusing Pinterest.
This feature in itself is worth its weight in gold. You get all of the important data without doing the research. Not only can you get a smart schedule, but Tailwind can generate the schedule for however many pins you want to pin a day. I pin approximately 20-25 pins a day (I try for one every hour) but if someone only wants to pin 5 times a day, Tailwind will cater the schedule to that many pins. It is truly amazing.
This is a quick screenshot of what my schedule looks like on Monday and Tuesday of each week.
Tailwind Tribes:
Tailwind Tribes are the Tailwind version of Pinterest Group Boards. They help you get your Pinterest Pins seen and shared by tons of other people. This is great for generating increased traffic to your Pinterest account and website.
With Tailwind Tribes, you can pin as much as you like as long as you reciprocate on other Pins. It is usually a pin for a pin. You pin something then repin one of someone else’s.
Weekly Summaries:
Tailwind also tracks all of your pin statistics from your account. How many repins per week, activity from your website (if you link your website and Tailwind account), number of followers, and statistics on your Pinterest boards too.
Board List:
Finally, Tailwind allows you to create Board Lists’. A board list is a list of Pinterest Group Boards that you create and customize into one board. When you want to Pin something to several boards, all you do is simply click on the board list to add your Pins to each of the group boards. This makes pinning a pin so easy!
My Experience with Tailwind:
Overall, Tailwind has been one of the best investments that I have made in regards to my blog! It saves me a ton of time throughout the day and I can schedule Pins a week in advanced if I know I won’t be able to do it throughout the week. I have not had any issues at all with my Tailwind and it is always reliable.
The only thing about Tailwind is that Pinterest does appreciate and reward bloggers that manual pin. This is because they are more likely to press on promoted products when browsing their smart feed. A solution that I found to this is to do 10 manual pins each day. I do some in the morning and then some when I schedule my pins for the next day. This keeps me happy and Pinterest happy as well!
Pinterest is an incredible and totally necessary (in my opinion) tool for your blog and Tailwind is what makes Pinterest easy to use and less time consuming! I would highly recommend trying the free 30 day trial of Tailwind. The only way to see just what kind’ve difference it will make is by trying it with your blog.
With the free 30 day trial you get all of these features mentioned in my blog post for free! If you would like to try Tailwind, click Here!
The smart scheduler, Tailwind Tribes, Board List and weekly summaries are incredibly valuable information and tools for your blog and Pinterest profile!
