Over the past several days I have been sick with the flu. And of course, the only thing you want to do when you have the flu is sleep, get rid of the terrible body aches and not feel like you want to throw up every 20 minutes.
Unfortunately, also with the flu, you can’t sleep, you can’t stop focusing on the terrible aches and you also can’t stop focusing on the terrible nauseating feeling.
So what does one do?
Read a book of course.
That’s the only logical way to conserve energy and potentially take your mind off everything else.
The book that I decided to read during this bout of flu was Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty. This book was a suspense but not a suspense as you would typically think.
The book description gave way to some suspense but as the reader you were not aware of what type of mystery would be dispelled right up until it happened.
However, before we get into the nitty gritty details of this book and my overall thoughts, you can find a quick description below.

The book revolves around one main character, Frances Welty, however you get the point of view of all nine “perfect strangers”. Each of these nine strangers, for various reasons, decide to go on a a trip to a health resorts. Some to save their marriage, others to lose weight and some to grieve loss.

Overall Thoughts on Nine Strangers by Liane Moriarty
I did very much enjoy this book. It was a nice distraction from the constant body aches and nausea that was encompassing me…
Nine Strangers is written by Liane Moriarty who some of you may know as the NY Times Bestselling author of Big Little Lies. If you have ever read that book (or watched the series) you know that it is full of twist and turns and leaves you questioning until the last second. Well, this book is no different.
I knew there was going to be some sort of mystery when I started the book, and I can tell you, I wasn’t sure what it was going to be right up until it happened. Liane kept the twists and turns coming all through the book and allowed the reader to get a look inside each of the characters heads before the climax of the book. The great mystery.
I won’t tell you what happens in this book to make it a suspense, but I will tell you it probably won’t be what you think.
Overall, Nine Strangers by Liane Moriarty is a wonderful book. I would highly recommend this book to read as it keeps the readers attention all the way until the end and it also provides the reader with amazing character development. The twist and turns provided by Liane are amazing and will keep the reader guessing.
